Norwegian violinist and composer Ole Bull (1810-1880) composed this beautiful melody, arranged for saxophone and piano by Ronald L. Caravan, as part of a larger programmatic work depicting a summer visit to a mountain pasture. The song’s title is translated “The Mountain Pasture Maiden’s Sunday Song.” It quickly became one of Norway’s most beloved tunes by a national composer. Two piano accompaniments are provided in this edition—-one to be played with saxophone in Bb and the other with saxophone in Eb. (Excellent encore piece.) approx. 1-1/2 min.
